Dr. Mario Cappelli, C.Psych – Clinical Director

Dr. Mario Cappelli is a Clinical Psychologist who for the past 25 years has specialized in working with children, youth and young adults. Considered an expert in his field, Dr. Cappelli is a sought after clinician, trusted advisor, educator and leader within the mental health community. Heather Bragg,  MSW, RSW


Heather believes that the cornerstone of effective therapeutic work is built on a strong working relationship with her clients. She will work collaboratively to understand your current difficulties, identify your goals for treatment, and build an individualized treatment plan. In her work, Heather uses an integrative approach to treating clients and families. Dr. Lucy Cumyn, Ph.D (supervised practice)

Lucy Cumyn joined the Cappelli & Associates group in March 2015 after completing her PhD in Educational and Counselling Psychology. Lucy currently shares her time between Ottawa and Montreal as she completes her post-doctoral work in the School/Applied Child Psychology program at McGill. Lucy is comfortable working with children and adolescents who present with mild to complex mental health issues and personality disorders. Dr. Tina Daniels, Ph.D

Tina Daniels has worked in the field of psychology and child studies for over 25 years and is an accomplished researcher and educator.  She is an associate professor at Carleton University and is considered an expert on the subjects of bullying and social aggression in children and youth. Tina has played a fundamental role in Canada in helping to identify and understand the underlying factors of bullying, and in developing and evaluating resources to aid children, youth and adults. Jennifer Laewen, MSW, RSW

Jennifer Laewen has been providing mental health services for almost 15 years, specializing in working with youth and families from diverse backgrounds and with multiple needs in the areas of substance abuse, addictions, mental health and related issues. Jennifer works with youth and young adults struggling with depressed mood and anxiety, personal behavioural challenges, hoarding behaviours, and mental health issues related to addictions or substance abuse. Rod Olfert, M.Ed, RSW

Rod Olfert has been providing mental health services to clients and families for over 25 years. He is a well-known professional in the Ottawa community, and brings a rich array of experience and expertise to Cappelli & Associates. Rod is also an advocate and trusted advisor in the area of mental health service coordination, system development, education and training for the treatment of addiction/substance abuse and concurrent disorders. Stacey Segal, MSW, RSW

Stacey Segal has over 14 years of experience providing mental health services in the Ottawa community, bringing a broad range of expertise and in-depth knowledge to her work with Cappelli & Associates. Stacey is a “go to” person at our practice when support is needed for our very young clients and their families and is a valuable resource to parents and caregivers who find themselves struggling to manage behavioural and social problems at home or at school. Dr. Melissa Vloet, Ph.D (supervised practice)

Melissa Vloet’s genuine personality, warmth, compassion and her sense of humour help create safe, trusting relationships with the young people she works with. Alicia Biafore, MSW, RSW


Alicia strives to create a therapeutic environment that is comfortable, non-judgmental and empathetic. Using a range of therapeutic techniques and a collaborative style, Alicia will work with you to establish a treatment plan that is tailored specifically to your needs.

As part of her integrative approach, Alicia draws on elements of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Attachment Based Family Therapy (ABFT), and Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS).Clients and colleagues both enjoy working with Alicia. Anne Cappelli,  BSc.N, MHA – Practice Manager


Anne has a background in nursing, health services planning and management that has proved to be just the right combination for supporting and overseeing the day-to-day operations of Cappelli and Associates. As the Practice Manager, Anne is the key point of contact for our group and the lead in coordinating new service development and collaborating with other community providers. READ MORE.

April is a welcomed addition to our busy office! April has several years of experience in medical office support and is very familiar to the challenges families face in coordinating appointments with competing scheduling demands.
