Rod Olfert has been providing mental health services to clients and families for over 25 years. He is a well-known mental health professional in the Ottawa community, and brings a rich array of experience and expertise to Cappelli & Associates.
Rod is a skilled therapist and has worked with Dr. Cappelli as a clinical associate for many years in private practice. He has a warm and engaging style and uses a client-centered and family-centered approach. He is able to work with teen and young adult clients at any stage of readiness and has a proven record of guiding them through challenging personal circumstances, critical life transitions, and complex intrapersonal dynamics. Rod is comfortable working with a broad range of mental health problems, including substance abuse and concurrent disorders, depression, anxiety, and complex personal life challenges.
Rod is also an advocate and trusted advisor in the area of mental health service coordination, system development, education and training for the treatment of addiction/substance abuse and concurrent disorders. He has developed many youth and parent treatment and education programs used within the community including the first Young Adult Concurrent Disorders Program in Ottawa and various other concurrent disorder training programs across the country.
Rod holds a Masters in Education and is registered as a social worker with the College of Social Work and Social Service Workers.
