Stacey Segal MSW, RSW
Senior Clinical Associate
Stacey Segal has been providing mental health services in the Ottawa community since year 2000, bringing a broad range of expertise and in-depth knowledge to her work with Cappelli & Associates.
Stacey’s clinical experience with children, youth and families has been forged in a variety of settings including in the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) emergency department as a member of the Crisis Intervention Team where she worked for 10 years, at the Bariatric Medical Institute (BMI) as a paediatric social worker and as a clinical associate for several years with Dr. Cappelli in private practice.
At Cappelli & Associates, Stacey provides individual therapy to children and youth in order to address a variety of mental health issues, social problems and crises that clients may be presenting with. She also provides support to parents and caregivers by way of family therapy and co-parenting counselling for two-household families. Stacey recognizes the need to support children and youth beyond the four walls of her practice, and therefore strives to work collaboratively with schools, primary care physicians and other community agencies as needed or requested by families.
Stacey is a “go to” person at our practice when support is needed for our very young clients and their families and is a valuable resource to parents and caregivers who find themselves struggling to manage behavioural and social problems at home or at school.
Clients will say that Stacey is supportive, approachable, genuine and passionate about her work. Stacey holds a firm belief in the expertise of her clients, and aims to help build on their strengths, improve their daily functioning and develop lifelong coping skills.
Stacey has a BSW from Carleton University, a Masters in Social Work from McGill University and is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Work and Social Service Workers.
