Christine Polihronis, PhD.

Psychometrist

Dr. Christine Polihronis is a psychometrist who brings together over 10 years of experience in child development, research, and data-informed decision-making to help children, teens, and young adults show their true strengths during the assessment process. Christine works as a Senior Data Analyst at the Knowledge Institute on Child and Youth Mental Health and Addictions, an Investigator at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario Research Institute (CHEO RI), and an Adjunct Research Professor at Carleton University. These roles reflect her commitment to improving services and outcomes for young people.

Christine has a warm, calm approach that helps clients feel at ease. She enjoys putting the puzzle pieces together, by looking at a child’s developmental history, school reports, and test results to understand each child’s unique strengths and areas where they may need extra support.

Christine’s research experience spans both hospital and community settings, where she has contributed to projects, alongside Dr. Cappelli, aimed at enhancing mental-health care for children and youth in hospital and in community settings. She has supported emergency departments, primary care health organizations, as well as community organizations to implement and evaluate mental health screening and triage tools (the HEADS-ED and HEADS-ED Under 6) across Ontario. Her work helps ensure that families receive timely, appropriate, and well-coordinated care. Christine’s expertise in analyzing large data sets and evaluating newly developed screening tools strengthens her ability to bring a thoughtful, evidence-informed lens to psychometric testing.

Christine holds a Ph.D. from Carleton University in Psychology, where she focused on child development and in evaluating school-based bullying prevention programs under the guidance of Dr. Tina Daniels. She also holds a Master of Arts from Carleton University and a Bachelor of Arts Honours in Child and Youth Studies and Psychology from Brock University. Her wide-ranging educational and research experience contributes to every assessment she completes, allowing her to provide well-rounded, meaningful recommendations that support each child’s learning and well-being.

Understanding how busy school and family life can be, Christine offers weekend appointments to help make scheduling easier for families.
